A Heart for God

It's a heart issue with God. It has ALWAYS been a heart issue. We will meet so many people in Eternity who don't even know what a Bible is but their hearts were in sync with God.

There will also be many who knew their Bibles well who will not be present at the first resurrection because their hearts were never soft towards God.

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ (Matthew 7:21-23)

God is love . We know this not only because the Scriptures explicitly tell us but they also show us. God provided ways to come to Him even when we had turned our backs on Him. Yet the pride people have in themselves or their fear in trusting God cause them to not take advantage of God’s generous mercy. The Trials and God's Favor Before the First Thanksgiving

This life gives us many trials and sufferings. Through it all, we need to remain faithful to Him who is always faithful with us. He will see us through the good times and the bad times. This is what Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 says:  1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; The first Thanksgiving came only after a series of trials and favors which would make any modern day Christian shudder – both from the enormity of God’s blessings and the suffering God allowed them to endure. God's Plan

What am I supposed to do with my life? What job should I be doing? Am I doing the right thing for my family, friends and me? These are all questions we have or have had throughout our lives. Sometimes we feel we have the answers, but most times those answers are elusive. We tend to try to do things first our way. Why not? We know ourselves better than anyone else does and we should be able to figure everything out. As most of us have found, that does not work so well over the long haul. As we become wiser, we look to others to give us hints or detailed advice. This can come from conversations with family, friends and associates or from lectures, books and videos. Some of that advice is excellent and some of it is terrible. The problem is, how do you know what is exactly right for you?
