Justice in Eternity?
Think of all the really bad people who got away with things during their lifetime and never had to "pay" for them. Is there never any justice?
We all know that there are plenty of people who have done really, really bad things but have never been convicted of their crimes in a court of law.
Is there any justice for them?
Or do they "get away with it"?
If you think about this question for long in relation to how God looks at things, you'll realize that He doesn't worry about what we do here on Earth towards each other.
What?
He knows that we do some nice things and some bad things to other people all the time. It doesn't matter what we do to each other as we are all condemned living here in the world. Each and every one of us.
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:17)
Jesus wouldn't have come if we weren't condemned already. And Jesus came for EVERYONE.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Whoever means...WHOEVER. That's everyone.
Therefore, your primary concern is your relationship with God by believing in the saving power of Jesus. When you do that, Jesus forgives your sins - all of them - and you are now reconciled to God.
What happens if you don't reconcile yourself to God?
Well, that's when justice happens. That's when you pay for all the sins you ever did. No matter how small. You will pay, in excruciatingly terrible ways, for all the wrongs you ever did or all the right things you failed to do.
And it's not that God delights in causing pain. The pain you will feel is the shame and guilt of your own actions when seen in the light of a Holy, perfect and loving God.
All because you failed to trust in Jesus.
"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." (Romans 1:20)
"For in him [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him." (Colossians 1:16)
Jesus said there will be two resurrections; one for the righteous and one for the wicked (John 5:28). The righteous are those who believe in Jesus even if they don't know His name and the wicked are all those who do not.
Thus, even someone like Adolf Hitler could be counted righteous if...IF...he humbled himself and gave his heart to Jesus before he died. We won't know until the resurrection but it's not for us to judge. Our job is to believe, trust and obey Jesus and everything else will fall into place.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33)
